I was going to upload one, but then read the bit at the bottom about resizing them, and got confused

Not too bad thanks for asking. It is actually a photo of Ds2's rash I was going to post. It hasn't improved at all , and he has had it about 5 days now. I called the Drs again and they can't see him till tomorrow. I've kept him off 2 days, but i need to get back to work tomoroow, but don't wnat to send him if it contagious. haven't a clue what it is really!

Ignore the resize bit and just try! Have you got a posh camera? I never had any problems until I got my new camera. My old one was only 2 megapixels, but my new one is 7, so the file was too big. I'm not that good at it, and I'm sure there's a better way of doing it, but if it won't load, I just trimmed the edged off the background on my camera programme.

Saltire, when I first did this (when profiles were first introduced) there was a program I had to download (provided by Mumsnet) which allowed for resizing of photos.

Now that I have it (and in case you already have it on your pc) all you do is right click on the photo and up will come a small menu. About half way down is the resizing option.

I don't know your situation re the rash, but if ds is well in himself, send him to school. I know from past experience that most rashes come out after the contagious period (CP being an obvious exception). Ds1 has had roseola and I was specifically told this by the GP (school insisted on sending him home).

Also, just before Christmas, dd had a rash that turned out to be pityriasis rosea. That is a skin condition and not contagious at all.

Just to let you know rashes don't necessarily mean child should be off school.

How are you at the moment btw?

OK, is that a picture of his arms or legs? (Some doctor I would make!) Is the rash confined to that one place? If so, it looks like an allergy/skin irritation to me.

That's his arms. I should say he did actually want me to take a photo of his bum to show you all.
The rash is on his face, neck, chest, thighs, legs arms, hands, and back. oh and buttocks obviously.
it was, on Sunday like the one Ds1 and I had, in that it was bright red, now its gone more sort of patchy

So it is all over then? LOL at showing his buttocks. Only boys could have that reaction!

TBH Saltire, I am no expert but if he is well in himself and eating properly and has no temperature etc, I doubt it is contagious.

OH sorry, just realised what you said at the end about it being like the rash you and ds1 had. That would suggest it is contagious then, but still he might be over the contagious stage...

What happened to your rash?

DS1 got his first, on his face and a bit on his arms. he was fine and his disappeared after 3 days. Then I got it, but not on my face, mine was from my neck to me feet. I looked like I ahd been painted red, all my joints swelled up (DH had to dress me it so painful). Then after about 4 days the rash went and I was left with horrendous itching, then DS2 got it, first on his face, then every where else. The GP said that Ds1 was just a virus and mine was a Fibro flare up. i felt it was slapped cheek though. DS2 has been to see a GP, at the weekend, who said it was a "non specific virus". Hopwever, because it has not got any better, and has in fact got worse I am a bit worried
