Now that for sale & wanted threads don't get bumped when someone posts on them....

how do you know if someone wants to buy something you have or has something you want? Doing threads I am on only brings up so many and doing the dates only works if you remember your last check.

How about threads I started?

I love it! Thanks Mumsnet!

I don't have for sale threads on active convos but this week I have been looking for ds/wii games. So a quick glance daily down the for sale threads and I can see all the new ones. Takes 30 seconds! (will be even better with categories!)

The old way meant opening each thread to see if it was one you had already seen so finding a new one was impossible.

Doesn't help at all really

I had a thread up butit dissapears after 3 days becuase there are so many other threads, I have posted on it to leave a message on there for a lady I sold to but it won't get seen now So now I have to start another thread to contact her and another one to put the items I was selling back onto mumsnet?

Yes I can but my point is there are so many threads now that after 3 days the threads I create have dissapeared. So If I want to update whats left for example I can but no one will see it because it stays on page 2 or 3 or 4 ect.... and no one at all looks at them after they go off page 1

I fully understand the bumping is an issue but its the other end of the scale now as everyone will just re create their thread every 3 days

ah but it is being bumped off page by all those chat and fao type threads , if the number of threads were less or limted per poster and your fellow sellers stopped misusing it for other measn then yours wouldn't disappear so fast.

Exactly Lizs, If everyone just got limited to 1 thread on for sale and had the ability to edit it, things would be a lot easier. At the moment people are still just putting up threads for different items and other topics

And they are not my fellow sellers, I am a regular poster all over mumsnet who puts for sale threads up to make a bit of extra money.

Really don't want to be looked at like someone who just posts on for sale coz thats not the case!

Hi
We know it's not perfect at the moment but as it's half-term it's very quiet around Mumsnet Towers so please bear with us until normal service resumes and we'll see what we can do.
Thanks

hi olivia, just while your here

i do like the new set up and the no bumping thing, i really do, i find it easier to look, but there are a lot of repeats on there now.

I started a thread, but it disappeared and didn't come up on 'threads i started' or 'threads I'm on' the only way to keep hold of your threads is to watch them, then they seem to stay indefinately. Is there a way that Tech could make the 'threads I started' not time limited?
