Browsing on from a link in a thread off here, I came across this

From this forum

I want the ear of an influential MP, please, but without having to have a ticker and say "hun" a lot.

Can MN Towers sort this out, please?

Would be eversograteful

Ewww, it's like going to the fairground, but with no money.

Chose a bloke. He has more brownie points to score.

StarryStarryNight · 13/08/2007 23:46

I am so fucking sick of pink and violet.

hunkermunker · 13/08/2007 23:54

Are you both NM refugees? It sounds like you might be!

Boris - hmm... Will ponder...!

Yes, it pains the eye.

It's like walking into a Scooby Doo cartoon.

Desiderata · 13/08/2007 23:55

Oh, he'd blush and flick his floppy fringe, but if hunker can't convert him, than no-one will!

Desiderata · 13/08/2007 23:56

Oh, no hunker. I've never been on NM. I've only clicked on links from here.

StarryStarryNight · 14/08/2007 00:01

I am an ex netmum. I did not know mumsnet existed until there was a day of immense trolldom from mumsnet to netmums, and links cross links between the two sites....

alycat · 14/08/2007 11:00

I'd already scarpered by then (day of troll invasion), having left in disgust at the advertising policy and the 'I'm alright Jack and doesn't-affect-my-life-small-mindedness' response of the majority.

PLEEEEASE get Boris, very entertaining!

StarryStarryNight · 14/08/2007 11:10

Actually Desi, that makes you a "closet Netmum"....

Alycat, I know a few left because of the advertisements, I stayed I way from the Nestle Threads, there were some appaling going ons there.

GoingThroughChanges · 14/08/2007 11:17

I used to post on there.

Got fed up of everyone kissing ass & saying "hun" though.

Actually, they had a break away group a while back who set up their own website... slagging off all the netmum members! I can't remember the name now.. something about bitch I think... they slagged off all the posters & they had a clause saying "If you read something about yourself on here you're not allowed to strop" or something. My friend joined it & told me all about it!!

I think they had to shut it in the end!

StarryStarryNight · 14/08/2007 11:20

GoingThrough, yes, pretty childish stuff, I too heard about that, never bothered to look though.

But that is what ultimately happens when you have strict sensorhip and threads are deleted left right and center just because people have opinions that other may take offence from. I find sensorhip more offensive than opinions.

GoingThroughChanges · 14/08/2007 11:23

Oh totally!

I actually got 3 PM's from mods for actually stating my opinion!!

And 2 of those times I got about 18pm's from other members too saying I had said what they wanted to say but were afraid! Now, I ask myself, why people hang out on forums they are afraid to voice their opinion on!!

hunkermunker · 14/08/2007 11:23

GTC, just goes to show that behind a lot of the NM "fluff" there are some vicious bitches.

I prefer MN where you know you're hearing unedited opinion!

Ironically, there are more people on here I'd want as friends - you see them warts and all and there's not the "fake" about them that you get on an edited-to-within-an-inch-of-its-life forum.

So, MN Towers? About this tame MP...

OP posts:
StarryStarryNight · 14/08/2007 19:20

Actually,
could we NOT have a tame or lame MP? Could we please have a more suitably honest and outspoken MP?

alycat · 14/08/2007 19:21

Well, apart from Anne Widdicome, that sort of rules them all out doesn't it?

StarryStarryNight · 14/08/2007 19:29

That is not such a bad choice is it?

Desiderata · 14/08/2007 21:58

It's not a bad choice, Starry. It's a startling brilliant one!!

Widdy or Boris: the only two people possessed with personality amongst 650-odd elected twunts.

OliviaMumsnet · 15/08/2007 14:51

Just to let y'all know we've seen this and added it to the many other numerous requests, including Halloween smileys all of which we plan to discuss at the next meeting.
Thanks
MNHQ

hunkermunker · 16/08/2007 20:51

Widdy's anti-bf iirc, so I loathe her by default.

Olivia, thank you!

And Hallowe'en smilies...they'll cause trouble, you know... [pumpkin]
