So how do we all feel about having Burger King banners?

Hello, hello,

Burger King have been in contact to ask us to pitch for some of their banner dvertising business due in September (not sponorship mind). We have Macdonalds on our banned list because of global domination, Mclibel and issues to do with their suppliers (Fast food nation critique) - it's not really about their products as such.

So our instinct is that BK is OK and we can try and relieve them of some cash...

But what thinkest you, MNetters, about the prospect of being confronted by someone eating a flame-grilled sausage sandwich - would you all flee in horror?

Well it personally wouldn't bother me. They don't get my money whatever.

Not sure that there's really any difference ethically between BK & MacDonalds though? I'm pretty sure the former would be going for the same level of world domination as the later if they could.

I loathe and detest all fast food chains. Don't like them very much either.

Ditto Ediemay - but that doesn't mean I would object to them being on MN, particularly.
I think it is important to support campaigns - like the MclLibel business - and i suppose I am cynical that BK are simply trying to cash in and soak up the fast food market for children....I won't be buying a BK burger just because they are on Mn though. wishy washy wavering, there!

What is the differenc between Bk and McD? Don't eat them anyway so makes no difference to me byt slightly hypocritical

Fine by me.

I only flee in horror at plastic surgery ads.

Not sure if BK really is better than MacDs - when I read 'Fast Food Nation' it didn't really seem to be making much of a distinction between different fast food chains, but perhaps I'm remembering wrongly. But it wouldn't bother me either way.

But do you have to be a fan of BK to put up with an ad on the site?

Not sure about this. Junk food on a parenting site? Hmmmmmmmmm.............

if they are giving you money Do it. I ignore the banners anyway {grin}

I was asked if it would make me flee. My answer is yes. The food is very bad news for adults and children, in my opinion.

Wouldn't bother me. Only an advert. We see adverts for things we may not want all day every day, so an ad on here is no different, imo.

Although I could just eat a whopper...

I'm not sure whether BK is "better" than Mcdonalds. Certainly it tastes better, I'm partial to the odd whopper (with cheese, I'm with fiofio )
