can't get my new nickname to stick

i just seem to be going round in circles - trying to change nickname and password too. Get to registration page, make teh changes, click 'save changes'; back to login page (twice) to discover teh changes haven't stuck. I'm not getting a 'nickname taken' message. Where am I going wrong?

Also the box at the bottom here shows an old nickname - how can I change it so it remembers teh new one?

I'm new to mumsnet and had a real problem registering. In the end I e-mailed them via the 'contact us' bit at the top of the page and they sorted it out straight away for me - good luck.

Not sure how to get your nickname to take, but you need to clear your history to get rid of saved settings ie your name at the bottom of the page.

have you changed it at the bottom of the page as well? so when you want to add a message it's your new name and not the old one?

Has it definitely accepted your new name and not rejected it with a red error message at the top of the page?

I am going round and round on this one.

I log in, go to ?registration? it asks me to log in, I log in, it goes to the My Mumsnet page, I click registration details, it asks me to log in, I log in and get my registration page, I change my nickname, I click on ?save changes? it asks me to log in again, I log in, it goes to the My Mumsnet page, I click registration details, it asks me to log in, I log in and get my registration page ? WITH MY OLD NICKNAME UNCHANGED. Ditto if I try to remove my registration completely.

You can see that this could send a girl nuts, especailly when tehre is a really juicy thread she wants to contribute to anonymously!

no no really, I have been having problems name changing for a few days,

Want to postsomething to do with my job but as people know where I live and what I do I have to do it incognito!
