Deleting for bunfights

MNHQ have just deleted a thread (the one about a violin exam) for this reason. However, this was in practice down to one poster alone who clearly came on with the deliberate intention of being as thoroughly unpleasant as she could. The thread could have been put back on track simply by deleting her posts and probably banning her until she sobered up calmed down.

I do think at times MN is too quick to go for the easy option in cases like this.

Hi Judy
Thanks for the feedback - I fear this is rather a TAAT but

Given that : -
1 there was a fair amount of mud slinging on the side of more than one poster -
2 there was no attempt to stop chucking personal attacks about after we'd asked folk to be nice (with a nice link to a violin based video on a thread about violins - I mean, come on! Grin)
3 that the OP had been given some helpful/constructive answers to her AIBU query
and
4 that she'd been advised to seek specialist help in the extra curriculum topic which would have been more helpful...

We felt that the thread had run its course and that it wasn't making lives easier - which is MN's Raison d'ĂȘtre
hope this clears this up
Peace, love and indeed Ode to joy
