CONSTANT 'unresponsive script' message - mn pages only

it's driving me up the wall. It is exclusively happening on mn pages. I am getting nothing on any other page on any other site I browse.

I have no idea what any of it means so I took screenshots hoping tech would understand it.

Likewise.

I gave up at 20 the other evening and returned to the app - they could have gone on all night for all I knew. It's preventing me from using the site on Win 10 because the whole site 'hangs' pending resolution of the issue.

(I think it's on the Win 10 version that it's happening for me. If memory serves, anyway.)

It's happening constantly to me, too, on Windows 7.

PS - and I just happen to have the option of going to the app instead. There might be plenty of people who can't so go elsewhere altogether.

cozietoesie Wed 13-Apr-16 13:41:19

What browser were you using, Seneca? (I was on FF. )

SenecaFalls Wed 13-Apr-16 13:46:12

I'm on FF, too, cozie. I think it's happened on Explorer, too. I'll switch to that and see what happens.

It just happened again.

Me too - Windows 7 and FireFox..

cozietoesie Wed 13-Apr-16 13:48:08

It's not seeming to happen if I use FF on the iPad - a Windows problem perhaps?

cozietoesie Wed 13-Apr-16 14:05:21

Mind you - if I use FF on the app, I get 'white page' syndrome which makes MN more or less unusable for a different reason. If the app goes skew-whiff, I guess I'll be watching a lot of movies !

cozietoesie Wed 13-Apr-16 14:06:13

Sorry - FF on the iPad. blush

UsernameIncorrect Wed 13-Apr-16 14:07:41

I only get it on Twitter. Never MN. Windows 10 - Firefox. If I close the window and re-open again it clears it for awhile. Annoying.

Allalonenow Wed 13-Apr-16 14:22:10

Yes, me too!
Started last night, only on MN.

None of the options in the box, eg "continue" "stop script", make any difference, screen just stays frozen whatever I do.

Have come onto an iPad with Safari to post this.

I'm using FF with Vista on a lap top.

Brenna24 Wed 13-Apr-16 14:23:18

It does it for me with FF but is fine on Opera.

SenecaFalls Wed 13-Apr-16 14:27:42

It freezes for me too. I have to go to Task Manager to get out of MN.

Sorry about this - how vexing
Will find out what's occurring.

cozietoesie Wed 13-Apr-16 15:09:53

Thanks, Olivia.

Thecatisatwat Wed 13-Apr-16 15:26:24

Me too. It's very slow/keeps freezing. I'm on IE/FF on laptop with Win 7. It's making MN pretty unusable really (and I'm curious to know what would happen if I did alter any of the lines of code in the debugger....).

LeaLeander Wed 13-Apr-16 15:33:21

Happens to me constantly too with FF. Constantly.

Pastamancer Wed 13-Apr-16 15:36:27

I get this too every so often. I use the no script plugin to try and reduce it but unfortunately have to allow some of these problem ones to get bookmarking to work

SenecaFalls Wed 13-Apr-16 15:55:01

Thanks, Olivia.

PresidentOliviaMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 13-Apr-16 15:59:19

Hey please can you get a clearer/bigger screenshot of the error message at all? THX

WandaFuca Wed 13-Apr-16 18:52:57

Win10/Firefox/desktop - I get a Shockwave Flash message.

Laska5772 Wed 13-Apr-16 19:13:54

And me... Windows 7 and Firefox .. doesnt happen on any other sites. I reckon its all the ads. I realise that MN probably needs these to finance the site but Is there anyway we can turn these off? .. its making me just go elsewhere.

Arfarfanarf Wed 13-Apr-16 19:39:39

sure. are these ok? or I could email them to you

Allalonenow Wed 13-Apr-16 19:55:05

Is it to do with using the bookmarks?
Or is it all the adverts?
