HELP ! Our Wavers thread vanished from Chat

BigChocFrenzy · 03/06/2015 18:15

Our wavers thread seems to have vanished suddenly today.

Yesterday it was on
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2322886-The-Wavers-welcome-Spring?msgid=52936356#52936356

Today, neither Muskey nor I can find it. All we get is your old biscuit.

We're the most inoffensive chatty bunch. Where did our thread go and why ?

I'm on iPad Air 2, IOS 8 - I haven't changed anything for months.

Is it possible the thread was started over 90 days ago?

Report
Muskey · 03/06/2015 19:19

I don't think the thread is that old but I can't remember Rafa, thanks for your advice you are more than welcome to join us once we get our thread back.

That goes for anyone who may be lurking

have you reported this thread to draw mnhq to it?

But if the thread was started on the beginning of April, it would be 90 days old and it would go puff.

BigChocFrenzy · 03/06/2015 19:31

90 days old - we normally need new threads before that. I thought we were as gabby as usual

Thx, I've just reported, asking if it was because the 90 days ran out

I'll add a request to site stuff that the OP should automatically get an EM if a thread they start is deleted, for whatever cause.
I believe an EM is normally sent for deletion with cause, so it should also be the case for deletion due to forgetting the date.

Perp I hope you didn't lose a long post describing your delic new trolley Shock

This is getting exciting do we have a conspiracy theory. I think it was professor plum in the kitchen with the bread knife

At one stage threads weren't automatically deleting, even weeks and months past their expiry (which is 30/90 days from OP, not last post) which was causing alarm in The Other Place and certain sensitive _Chat and 30 Days threads. More recently the tech kittens have been better fed the code has been tidied up so automatic deletions happen at the right time.

It is a really good thing that we have time limited threads. I wonder though if long running actual chat threads ought to live somewhere else so they'd only die if they got full up (1000+ posts).

Hell, I need the Wavy thread.
On another site stuff thread, I've just requested a topic for a loo brush called Ken.
Save my sanity and let me wave !

And the code for deleting a time limited thread will be nothing like deleting an active thread so an email would be a big job to create.

We could sort of do with a quiches topic although you'd need to go recruiting on Chat or Health or wherever occasionally.

Clever trolley, working its little socks wheels off < pats >

Yup, we probably need a new thread. Either of you fancy stating it ?
Or I saved my OP for the last and can dress it up for summer.

Hmm Maybe we need a longrunning chat thread, for those who may not talk fast enough to fill up a thread in 3 months and are too dozy to notice 90 days is up

i do indeed choc I love the three Beans, hence the name!

you inspired me to rejoin Aerobics which I went off today and huffed my way through some girly press ups. I conclude I have feeble arms despite lifting a twenty pound baby every day.
