I tend to think i've been banned when things like that happen, for my terrible terrible deeds.

This happened to me too. Had to change my password as it wouldn't accept mine so couldn't even get back in.

I do have a flag though.

Coughle Tue 17-Jun-14 08:20:11

How do you put the flag on? I can't see an option for it.

Coughle Tue 17-Jun-14 08:21:34

Argh never mind. I've just seen there's a whole thread about it.

I've been seeing the flags and thinking they indicated what country people lived in!!

It's been doing this for a while whenever I click on 'MyMumsnet'. I'm sure it never used to.

KateSMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 17-Jun-14 17:37:47

Hmmm - someone else (forgotten who, forgive me) mentioned this. When you click on "My Mumsnet", you'll be prompted to enter your log in details for security reasons.

HOWEVER! We've been fiddling (snigger) and it does appear that once you click the My Mumsnet thing, it logs you out everywhere - which we're fairly sure it shouldn't do. Bear with us whilst we have a dig.

Thank you kates.

Hello!

Right, can we clarify?

You will be prompted for your username/pwrd when you make changes to your account (like changing password or user name), but just clicking on MyMumsnet in itself shouldn't log you out.

If this is what's happening for you, can you tell us the usual please, ie:

How are you using MN (app, mobile site, desktop)
What device are you using (phone, tablet, PC etc)
What's your operating system (Windows, Android, Apple etc)
What browser are you using if you're on mobile or desktop (IE, Chrome, Safari etc)

Thanks

Piratejones Wed 18-Jun-14 15:50:23

clicking "my profile" or "my account" in the "my mumsnet" drop down logs me out.

1) How are you using MN

Desktop

2) What device are you using

PC and laptop

3) What's your operating system

windows XP

And windows 7

4) What browser are you using if you're on mobile or desktop

Firefox version 28.0

I'm sure it used to take me to the log in page, then take me to the profile page once I had entered my username and password. Now if I click on 'My profile', it takes me straight to the profile page but logs me out, so I have to click log in to change anything.

desktop site
laptop
Windows 7
Chrome

Except that now it's not logging me out. Did you fix it in the last 5-10mins or is it an intermittent problem?

Piratejones Wed 18-Jun-14 19:00:59

seems to be fixed for me too... I'm thinking they must have done something in the last few minutes.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Wed 18-Jun-14 21:27:12

Sneaky. I definitely wasn't working when just before I wrote my 18:56 post because I tested it to see if it was still broken and it logged me out.

Piratejones Wed 18-Jun-14 21:31:54

i know... they didn't let us know, if i wasn't obsessively checking i might have missed it.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Wed 18-Jun-14 21:38:16

They could at least have put an edit facility in at the same time, so when I rewrite my posts part way through typing them I can then go back and take out the words I forgot to take out the first time. I didn't really need 'when' and 'just before'.

Piratejones Wed 18-Jun-14 21:47:07

edit until the thread updates with a new post would be good.

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 19-Jun-14 15:50:34

Hello - glad to hear it's fixed; ShamTech was having a look yesterday afternoon so it sounds like he got to the bottom of it. Do let us know if it goes wrong again.

lettertoherms Sat 21-Jun-14 07:38:35

Still logs me out when I click my mumsnet/my profile! Mobile site, android device.

Tbh it always has but I just thought that's how it worked or sumting...
