So, we thought we'd have a sort of Mumsnet open day...

Ever found yourself wondering, in an idle moment, what really goes on at MNHQ? If you’re curious to know who’s in charge of the big red delete button, what we keep in our biscuit tin, and whether we do, in fact, harbour mainland UK’s largest cache of gin well, here’s your chance. On Wednesday 26th March we’re planning to throw open our doors to five nosy interested Mumsnetters, who’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to uncover our deepest, darkest secrets.

Attendees will be treated to

  • a tour of MNHQ (which will take approx 10 mins)
  • the opportunity to grill our community, content, bloggers, events and campaigns folks on anything you fancy
  • the chance to ransack our books box for a load of freebies
  • lunch on me (possibly with Wine)

We’ll also do our best to organise an exciting webchat guest for the day, so you can see backstage on those too.

Our offices are in central-ish London (Kentish Town); if you’re likely to be within striking distance on March 26th, and fancy a nose around, add your name to this thread; we’ll stick it in a hat and do a Hunger Games-style reaping on Monday 3rd March. Come on now, don’t be shy - what could possibly go wrong?

[May the odds be ever in your favour]

Are you looking for a small child to take over so you can retire? Someone who will never reveal the secrets of the never ending gin bottle to net mums? Will there be golden tickets?

I could go into labour at HQ.

I think it would ruin the magic and mystique. And I am too far away. But anyone who goes needs to agree to start a thread and SPILL upon returning. Grin

Maybe she means that once you know all the MN secrets she'll have to kill you. But after wine.

Realistically I don't think I could make it - but whoever does, could they let me know if Tech prefers Gordons or Bombay Sapphire so I know what sort to send as a bribe next time the site goes tits up?

That sounds like fun. I wouldn't have to kill anyone from another District while I was there though would I? Will Olivia be there to discuss The Archers?

Well it's a lovely idea, but I'm in Glasgow and it's term time - of course I can't come.

I think you'll have a lovely time but it does reinforce the fact that London/SE is the focus.

As there are more folk in Central London than there are in Scotland, then I really do see the rationale.

But is there a virtual way that those of us not in "striking distance" of MN to be included, then I'm probably not the only one who'd appreciate it!
