Dear MNHQ can you please please please pretty pretty please sort out the Active Convos list on the Android App? There are MNHQ threads (stickies? Is that the word) that go back to MAY on there, and takes a million years to scroll through them before getting to the current stuff and HONESTLY no-one cares about competitions to win food processors that closed eight months ago <imploring>

Can't you just put a time limit on them so they only hang around for about a month instead of centuries? I swear I saw one there the other day posted by Mrs Beeton.

Bug "Feature".

Log out and log in.

Failing that, go into Settings > Apps and clear data.

Oh thanks Deck, I'll give it a go. It's such a tiny thing but SO infuriating.

^ What Horry said. If you log out and log back in again it clears them down to 5. Log out is in settings from the home screen.

Ooo you star, that's worked - thanks! fsmile thanks

FragglerockAmpersand Sat 21-Dec-13 21:25:06

StarS, plural! Cheers, chaps. Can't quite believe something that's been pissing me off for so long could have such a simple solution.

alisonmcg Sat 21-Dec-13 21:26:49

ah thanks for this, it's been driving me mental too!! Will try logging out and in again, fingers crossed for success!

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry Sat 21-Dec-13 21:27:15

It's still annoying though because you have to do it so often. Which is a PITA when you have a long seasonal nn to type in accurately... grin

alisonmcg Sat 21-Dec-13 21:29:10

it worked! thank you!! decks how quickly do they build back up again?

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry Sat 21-Dec-13 21:32:52

Feels quick. I think I clear once or twice a month? Depends how often MNHQ stickies new things I guess.

we could do with a last 15 min/ hour/ day button like on the web version.

oh and something else, why are there no capitals?

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry Sun 22-Dec-13 11:26:02

I think there's different ways of labelling a text box (eg to expect just numbers or free text) some of which "tell" your device to engage sentence capitalisation.

I have posted on a thread about this before, but are there any plans to properly sort this out?

it is a real pain in the arse.

I did try the logging in and out thing, but it doesn't work for long.

laptop is on the blink so MN app is my only option.

AmberLeaf Tue 07-Jan-14 19:27:55

id report my post to draw attention to it, but I don't seem to be able to do that on the app.

HoratiaDrelincourt Tue 07-Jan-14 19:28:51

Amber the weird arrow in the bottom right of each post links to report.

AmberLeaf Tue 07-Jan-14 19:44:47

ah, many thanks!

I had a feeling it would be something obvious blush

AmberLeaf Tue 07-Jan-14 19:45:34

I thought that arrow was a way of replying. blush

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Tue 07-Jan-14 19:45:46

Use the mobile site - its much better than the app!

AmberLeaf Tue 07-Jan-14 19:48:20

(dim) How do I do that?

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 07-Jan-14 22:18:06

If you go to MN from a mobile device (phone or tablet) it should recognise that you need the mobile site and direct you automatically. If it doesn't, if you scroll right down to the bottom of any page on MN, the very last link you see (right in the middle of the page, absolutely at the bottom) is to the mobile site.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Tue 07-Jan-14 22:18:17

Just go to Mumsnet.com on your mobile device and will prob default to mobile site - if it doesn't there will be a link at the top or bottom where you can switch.

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 07-Jan-14 22:18:57

And yes, we do have a plan to make everything better - but we're afraid it's going to be a while. Sorry.

Thanks Rowan and ItsAll...
