Colour code zombie threads?

I unwittingly contributed to a thread that had for some reason (best known to the person that did it),been resuscitated,

Could you add, a colour bar where the title is, or on the side, that indicates how old a thread is, blue for current, green a week old, yellow a month, orange six, and red year and beyond,

Then people would be instantly aware when joining in with a thread as to when it was started, as clearly a lot of us don't spot the year when on these threads, and some times people carefully choose threads that the day and month match to resuscitate.

Anyway it would be a simple way of stopping the annoying problem, and for people like the person who started the thread in the above link, they wouldn't have to have something they probably rather forget jump out at them, I hope the OP of that thread is happy now.

Ooh!

But how are we supposed to see the new solution if we don't go around making zombie threads? grin

magimedi Argentina Fri 09-Aug-13 17:49:22

Could someone please tell me what the solution is?

I may be being very thick - but I can't see it!

You can see it without making a zombie thread. Promise.

Just find a thread where the most recent post is six months old or older.

And then close it down nicely - and come and report back.

Can't see any difference via Mumsnet App - looked at a thread from January.
Will there be an app update?

quoteunquote Fri 09-Aug-13 18:13:40

what ?
confused

I can't see anything.

Yay!

Ah so it's not just thread that are six months or older its if the most recent post is six months or older.

How many posts will the warning last for? Because spammers bump of threads and the people continue to post on them.

I can't see anything....l

YoniBottsBumgina Fri 09-Aug-13 18:23:42

Haha grin I like it!

quoteunquote Fri 09-Aug-13 18:33:21

Found it, so if a thread has already been posted on, then the warning will not be there?

So if it is a deliberate resuscitation by a troll person of dubious intention, will they be the only one to see it?

It usually being drawn in because a thread has been bumped that is a problem, when someone has already posted.

here is an example of the solution for those who haven't found it. Scroll down.

The warning will remain as long as the most recent post and/or the next most recent post are more than six months old.

So if a spammer, reanimates it, the warning's still there for the next unsuspecting poster.
