Are they here to stay MNHQ? Because it's really, really, annoying...

I'm talking specifically about the flashing mayor of London cycling one.

I had a few tabs open and some had them and some not! It was so wierd I took a screen shot of it to ask! Helpfully you had already started a thread on it Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 18/04/2013 11:07

I've got it too, on the TIO page and active convos but not in the site stuff board

LegoAcupuncture · 18/04/2013 11:08

Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't. Very annoying as makes my font smaller.

Myliferocks · 18/04/2013 11:49

Ok this is getting serious! I'm going to have to do some work as I can't MN with that advert everywhere.
It effects the font which makes the page harder to read and adjusting the font doesn't help!

Gerrof · 18/04/2013 11:52

Yes, it is really obtrusive - covers the text on the side and at the bottom, makes it impossible to MN as you can't read the threads.

Is on mobile version only from what I can see (my laptop is fine but it's showing in my ipad).

Rosesforrosie · 18/04/2013 12:18

Phew, I thought for a horrible moment I'd hallucinated it!

It was very very annoying, but seems to have disappeared for now (on iPad).

OP posts:
Myliferocks · 18/04/2013 12:20

I'm on my iPad and it only seems to disappear if I log in to MN.

Gerrof · 18/04/2013 12:46

Yes it's gone now on the iPad.

Polgara2 · 18/04/2013 14:25

Thats really annoying! Now the advert has gone but the space where it was is still there, just blank. So my text is still too small.
Change it back purleeeeeeeeease!!

Polgara2 · 18/04/2013 14:26

Am on iPad btw

HelenMumsnet · 18/04/2013 14:45

Hello. I think the Tech team are trialling some ads for tablet. I'm not sure how long they'll be up - we'll try to find out.

Rosesforrosie · 18/04/2013 14:56

Thank you Grin

I haven't seen any since I complained earlier if that helps.

CheeseandGherkins · 18/04/2013 15:40

Hate it. It's annoying and makes everything else too small. I have ad blockers but it doesn't block these. Have to find something that does or stop using on my tablet. Hate adverts at the best of times but as the site isn't great on tablet anyway this just makes it awful.

BOF · 18/04/2013 15:55

Yes, it's bugging me too.

Icedcakeandflower · 18/04/2013 16:23

Hate it too, so thought I'd come here to see what's going on.

I'm on my iPad and the ads make the typeface too small to read without expanding.

Please can we return to how it was.

NervyWervy · 18/04/2013 16:26

Also hate it!

ColetteTech · 18/04/2013 16:37

Hi All,

Could you can send us a screen shot of what you're seeing to the usual contactus address, please?

As HelenMumsnet said, we are trialing some new ads for iPads and the font size looks okay on the ipad I'm looking at but would like to compare it to what you are seeing.

TIA,

ColetteTech

MisForMumNotMaid · 18/04/2013 16:39

Its gone now, but i'm on my IPad and earlier turned off it was that bad. I thought the IPad had developed a fault.

ArtemisKelda · 18/04/2013 16:41

The font size went really small on my iPad and the ad was very distracting.

Gerrof · 18/04/2013 16:44

The advert has completely disappeared from my ipad now.

Icedcakeandflower · 18/04/2013 16:52

It's gone fro mine too.
