The t&cs explicitly say your details will only be used for the competition and then deleted, so this is very dodgy indeed, and definitely against the email marketing legislation, which says companies can only send email to people who opt in to receive them, unless there is a clear business relationship- which there clearly isn't.

Clearly, hush hush want the emails otherwise why do the comp, but they absolutely cannot send marketing mail you didn't opt in for.

I did wonder if I could have done that! I am just about dozy enough to have done! So I tried to log in and asked for a password reminder and got the message that the email address was not on the system. So no.

Thanks chops - I didn't know I could do that. Went back into the email and searched and right at the bottom in tiny writing is a clickable link to unsubscribe.

I never subscribed in the first place!

Just unsubscribe from it.

I enter comps a LOT, and get around 1000 emails a day because of it, I just delete them!

I put the two together and so I decided to read the T&C to see if email is shared and it doesn't say it is, so I asked.

I've entered. Will update if I get an email I didn't know the answer btw (and cba to google) so maybe it's a penalty for lack of knowledge. I'll let you know that well

This happened to me and I got jumped on (by MNHQ and other posters) that it was rediculous to suggest they would do rich a thing

It seems a bit odd that I never ever get an email from hushhush and then as soon as I enter the hushhush comp - I start getting them.
