Whilst I think it's wonderful that the messages on deleted threads are funny,
this is not English:
"Message from MNHQ: Deleted for possible breaking all the rules, but mainly for speculation, goading and trollery."
"possibly breaking" or "possible breaking of" or "breaking of all possible rules"
thanks.
(mainly just wanted to show what a funny note it was)

You're right, Nickel.
Does this mean we're not allowed to spectulate on MN any more? Darn, there goes the Philiosophy / Religion/ Spirituality section!

Thanks for preserving the message nickel!

I know, I know - it was me
And I am MNHQ's most pedantic pedant
Just want you all to know that we can't edit the deleted-message reason once it's posted. I pressed 'post' at the exact moment that I spotted the typo... and silently screamed.
Then I thought, "Never mind. No one's as pedantic as me."

So now can we have an edit feature, Helen?
Maybe we could have one just for us pedants as, after all, it is us that are the ones screaming into the night when we realise we have made a mistake!

And no.
We all have to learn to loosen up and let it go, BIWI <New Year positive thang>

ah, see I thought it was a stock quote.
now I know it's done afresh every time, I don't feel so bad

BIWI - maybe we just need a highlight facility - one that you can click next to your error-ridden post, so that people know it's a mistake and you have noticed it. The they'll know that you aren't really crap.

"Message from MNHQ: Thread about a deleted thread <even if you were all trying to pretend it wasn't> "

oh, bugger, does this make this thread a thread about a deleted thread?

No, no editing.
With great power comes great responsibility.
It would be used for evil.
I love the message about the 'even if you were all trying to pretend it wasn't' deletion.
Are MNHQ not tempted to type 'deleted because, frankly, you were behaving like a bunch of twats'
I would.
Best message on that thread was Justine is God.
I think the "delete thread" has a few stock options and then an "add your own" option - Helen was trying to be nice to us by giving us an amusing line

She does try to bring a bit of happiness and light wherever she can. God bless Helen!

You've also got a spelling mistake on the home page.
Apparently Rachel is joing your book club discussion
"oh, bugger, does this make this thread a thread about a deleted thread?"
No, nickel, your previous post made it a thread about a thread about a deleted thread.
Keep up.

And oh god yes
Thread deleted because you were all behaving like 5 year olds
Thread deleted because you were too dirty even for mumsnet
The possibilities are endless

Thread deleted because you were too dirty even for mumsnet
The mind just boggles at what that might be...

Yeah. It's never happened yet...
I also enjoyed the deleted thread note.
Thanks Helen
