So as to optimise my Mumsnet experience I would like to reduce my unnecessary key strokes and time wasting as much as possible!!!
Could I suggest please that when a login is required to complete an action eg search, I'm on, post reply etc, instead of telling me that I need to login and then expecting me to waste my time clicking on the login button, you tell me that I need to login and AT THE SAME TIME present me with the login boxes on the same page?
This will pare seconds from the experience of 1000s of users!
Thank you
Why don't you just log in up ^ there and click "keep me logged in"?
I haven't had to login in months...

cos I dont want my husband or kids reading my stuff!!!

Have individual log ins on your computer and password protect it?
I don't think you'll find that 1000s are having your problem. In fact, you're the first I've ever heard of.
Or, log in up ^, and don't click 'keep me logged in' and close your browser window when you're done and you'll be logged out.
Or buy your own laptop...
Even if you're always logged in, you still have to log in again to use the My Mumsnet pages - change your name or profile etc, so knackered's suggestion would be useful for that.

Hmm, I mean, when I do come to log in say once a session (I dont always login), I would like to be given the option to do that on the same screen on which I am informed that I need to login, rather than being unnecessarily redirected to another screen - it's good programming sense. The redirect is a bit irritating as it serves no purpose and (unless there's some techie reason why it cant be) could be chopped out.
That may be Rusty but she mentioned logging on for things like TIO. Which is just madness when there is a global log on option.
It would also have been useful just now, when I had to login to post, despite never having logged out on this iPad since I got it in March. This is because I went on Mumsnet yesterday on my old iPhone that I hadn't used since Christmas and had to login on that. Despite ticking the 'keep me logged in' box, it didn't. I've noticed before that this happens if I go on a computer I haven't used before, or haven't used for a while (eg one of the computers at work) - I always then have to login again on all my regular devices/computers.

Hello there
Apologies that we've missed this one.
We'll ask Tech to take a look at it.
