What is up with the pound key it's driving me mad when people put £50 or whatever and it doesn't show up as that

Is it me?

I can see it fine.

Iceaddict Sat 29-Dec-12 18:47:23

I get £ instead of the symbol for pound. Only on the app. The desktop site is fine

Fairyloo Sat 29-Dec-12 18:47:44

It does &pound50 instead of £50

I can't see a pound sign either. I'm using the iPhone app.

My previous post looks OK on the desktop site but shows a variety of &pound combinations on the iPhone app. Thanks for raising this, I'll add it to the list.

Thank you DarrenMumsnet! smile

Also I noticed someone wrote a name on here with a hyphen over it and it did the same thing. Not sure what I was as I didn't look on desktop site. Thread was entitled. "What's your name?"

This is the case for a lot of symbols. I think speech marks etc have it. Some posts are unreadable.

Hi everyone,

Sorry about that! Don't know where the A came from, but we'll see if Tech do.
