Didn't want to hijack another thread...

Firstly can you make them easier to find? I am in mobile site and couldn't find them.

Secondly, can I have some clarification?

By submitting User Content to us, simultaneously with such posting you automatically grant to us a worldwide, fully-paid, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, fully sublicensable, and transferable right and license to use...

Does this mean you can sell our user content to anyone for any purpose?

Eg you could sell quotes to advertisers "Itsallagoingtobefine said on Mumsnet that she lives Heinz baked beans"

Eg Selling some of the "better" stories to take a Break?

I don't think that you would, but the thought that you could worries me.

Yep, MNHQ can sell anything to anyone.

HelenMumsnet · 23/11/2012 18:20

Well, yes, we could - strictly speaking.

But we hope you've seen, from what we've done over the past decade, that we're not exactly selling you all down the river. That's not our style.

We have used - and do use - some of the content of posts on Talk in our weekly mails (like Talk Roundup), in our on-site content (such as our [[http://www.mumsnet.com/babies/breastfeeding Breastfeeding content and much more up there ^) and in our books on Pregnancy, Babies and Toddlers. But we've always been upfront about that and never, we think, quoted people repeatedly or out of context.

And we have no plans to change Smile

Lougle · 23/11/2012 20:46

Of course not Smile But the question wasn't 'would MNHQ...?', it was 'could MNHQ....?'

IamtheZombie · 23/11/2012 23:14

But aren't those fairly standard terms for any social networking / chat / discussion site?

EdnaScoggins · 24/11/2012 12:03

Are they?
