I like "camp as a row of tents" and use it occasionally. I reckon this is ok since 40% of my siblings are gay and I have a ton of gay friends due to theatrical past. But no doubt some crusading mumsnetter would say I am homophobic.

Can we PLEASE have a frog emoticon? To be used when someone is being REALLY unreasonable and won't listen to reason? 
I like "Mad as a box of frogs". A real box of frogs isn't particularly mad, but it does conjure up a feeling of madness.
I also like "Gayer that a tree full of parrots".
