Is there a wave symbol? Sometimes I see a little hand but where ? If not please can we have a wave sign?

WHAT??

Too many symbols on here already.

[irrefutable]

Although, do tell why you'd like it, please.

smile

Ah that would be those whose profile is public - if you hover over Chaos' name for instance, there is a little hand, whereas your's is not public and it just shows the cursor. Means you can enter her profile so to speak smile

some random apostrophes going on there - sorry!

<profers a lovely glass of chilled chenin blanc>

I prefer written emoticons. I am particularly partial to [ponders], [cat'sbumface] [snigger] and [facepalm]

As well as creepy wee brackets to signify actions.

YABU

Me, again ?

confused

<<hijack alert>>

Trills there's an unanswered thread that you might be able to help on - how to get on DM site with giving them the hits iyswim?

I have titsytposy running through my head, but that's wrong. sad

Trills Wed 22-Feb-12 23:43:28

Not you Chaos.

I have decided that since people post non-AIBU questions in AIBU I should be allowed to tell people that they are BU even if they haven't asked.

I do sometimes wonder how people manage to navigate the internet enough to find and sign up to MN if they haven't yet noticed that a pointy hand means "this is a thing you can click on".

Then again my mum didn't know that a triangle pointing to the right meant "play"...

Trills Wed 22-Feb-12 23:44:15

istyosty, but it got shut down

Oh so close.

So there's no way to circumnavigate the bouncer on the door of the website with the clicker then, now?

Your mom sounds about as technologically advanced as mine. grin

MaryZ Wed 22-Feb-12 23:49:31

[sigh]

<waves to Chaos so she doesn't feel left out>

Naah it was the omission of [wunk] that cut me to the core.

<<sobs heavingly>>

MaryZ Wed 22-Feb-12 23:58:24

Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.

[wunk]

Trills Wed 22-Feb-12 23:58:26

No, all your looking at the Daily Mail now gets counted and so their advertisers pay lots of money to them because of all the traffic (Some advertising is on a cost-per-click basis but others pay on a cost-per-how-many-looks-it-gets basis) so just don't look.

I hear you.

<waves to everyone>
Thanks for info....still it completely au fait with all MN little bits and pieces but have been hooked since I started early Jan.have discovered, though, that AIBU a bit of an angry place....much prefer S+B.
Loves burns night smilies
And thanks mary for the wine

Tee2072 Thu 23-Feb-12 07:29:20

Did this get moved? Because it's not in AIBU, so Trills' answer makes no sense.

Of course, I also agree with Trills. I can't figure out how a good portion of the population navigate the 'net most days. Especially self proclaimed Luddites.

Trills Thu 23-Feb-12 09:14:33

Tee - I explained myself smile

I have decided that since people post non-AIBU questions in AIBU I should be allowed to tell people that they are BU even if they haven't asked.

Tee2072 Thu 23-Feb-12 09:54:31

Sorry Trills I misread what you said!!!

Trills Thu 23-Feb-12 10:00:19

Sometimes people are just being unreasonable, I find grin

drywhiteplease Thu 23-Feb-12 13:40:38

I hate the AIBU tread (apart from at christmas)...too angry....AIBU to say that?

drywhiteplease Thu 23-Feb-12 13:41:06

Btw what is a troll?
