Webchat with DC

I really appreciate the idea of webchats with political figures and I think they add a lot to the character of MN. With the last election having been dubbed ‘the MN election’, it certainly felt good to be given a voice. I, for one, voted for the first time in my life as a consequence.

However, with Riven’s story as only one example, I feel like the current government has broken too many of its promises and that if DC could find the time to speak to us when he wanted us to vote, he should find the time to speak to us now too.

I would like another WC with him. Can you arrange it?

He'd have to bring a typist with him this time though. Lordy he was slow!!

Don't think he would now. He'd see himself as too big and MNers as too scary

Thank you TinyTim!

Sevenfold The reason I want him on is so we can put all his broken promises to him. Would you rather he got away with it?

he will anyway, he will just come on and tell more lies and be swooned over by the benefit bashers

I don't think there is anything to be gained by refusing communication. 5 years ago, who would have dreamed that any number of people at any one time would be able to communicate with the PM, and knowing that he would at least read what they have to say, even if he doesn't answer and even if he tries to evade your question?

I think MN is a business ==> which makes money from advertising ==> which it can only do because of its heavy site traffic ==> said traffic happens to be a proportion of the British electorate who may not otherwise be involved in politics or feel it is relevant to them ==> which equals an opportunity for candidates to woo said proportion of the electorate ==> it follows that the circle should be closed by the now elected officials continuing their consultations with this handy proportion of the electorate.

It is very easy for those not in government to oppose every move the government makes, but it doesn't actually change anything. The only hope we do have is to work with what we've got.
