DH and DD and I are flying to Barcelona with the dreaded EasyJet in a couple of weeks however I am not sure what to do abotu a car seat for her? We won't be going anywhere in a taxi other than the transfer to and from the airport. What should i do? She's a forwardfacing one and they are just too big to take with us??? I know most countries (like the UK) say that you can travel in a car without a car seat if necessary. HELP.....

Take the train from the airport instead?

Does Easyjet allow you to take a car seat on board the plane? BA does. We took our boys' booster seats with us to France.

How old is she?
You don't actually have to use a car seat in a taxi, in this country or in Spain. You can get a taxi which will provide one if you pre-book (contact the airport). But don't guarantee on it being a) anything like your own seat in terms of comfort or cleanliness b) fitted properly or at all or c) even the right sort of seat for her age. (I have found this out after hiring a car and seat in Spain)

When I have travelled in a taxi from airport to house in Spain (10 minute journey) I have sat with ds on my lap. Now he is bigger he might fit under an ordinary seatbelt.

It would be a real faff to take your own seat on the plane and IIRC Sleazyjet won't let you anyway (not all airlines do).

Take the train. Is easy, cheap and frequent.

She has just turned 1. We went to Sicily in July but she was still in a baby car seat and that was easy.

It's a fine line between safety and ease. She will be sitting on my knee.

does anyone know if the train runs from barcelona airport?

I've always got the bus from Barcelona airport, which takes you straight into Puerta del Sol. Proper public buses (not some dodgy old coach), which leave from right outside, and driving is much less scary than taxis. Takes about half an hour.

Don't think train goes from Barcelona but it may go from Girona. Which are you going to?
