Sex toy cleaner?

Been wondering around the lovehoney website (as one does) and spotted sex toy cleaner - don't know if I'm being really thick here (entirely possibleGrin) but is this any different to any other type of cleaner? I mean, I wash our toys with a bit of ordinary hand-wash, then rinse well (I don't mean alcohol gel type stuff, I mean liquid soap that you wash your hands with).
Have I been missing the point all these years?
Is this something that I need?
Tell me tell me tell me!

Our logic has been that if a thorough scrub with normal soap is good enough for the real-life bits then surely it's good enough for the plastic imitations?

I just run mine under the tap with a bit of handsoap.

I use one of those intimate wash liquids. I found the alcohol sprays a little bit irritable.

When I buy it and stand at the checkout I always think guilty thoughts because I'm going against the MN massive (intimate washes for women - such a touchy subject) Grin

But I'm cleaning a rubber dong so hey ho!

There are some glass and rubber toys that you can put in the dishwasher.

The risk of being lax at removing them and caught by DS and his uncomfortable questions is almost as high as the risk everything will come out with a Spagetti Bolognese orange tinge....GrinGrin

You really don't need it. Just use normal handwash and really hot water.

For powered toys I usually get a robust coffee mug, fill it with boiling water and a little disinfectant (Zoflora or similar) and then stand the non-powered part of the toy in the mug, if that makes sense. Let it soak for 20-30 mins then rinse off with very hot water.

Not needed, just trying to make extra cashI presume.
Soap & water are perfectly fine for the job.

I use vodka on mine ! Just a drop of vodka on a cotton pad wipe and put back you don't have to leave them
out to dry then !

That is a disgusting waste of vodka, need Grin
Use facial cleanser or nail polish remover if you want cheap alcohol!

Vodka?! I think nofuckingroom is likely spot on with the reasoning on why they sell it, so I'm going to stick with what I was doing, which is ordinary hand soap and hot water. After all, if I was going to have a problem I surely would know that by now... (wondering how long sex toys have been in my life now!)
