Getting tense here, so DD has invited a crowd of her friends around tonight to pass the time together.

Here's hoping they will all get the right results for whatever course/career they want to follow.

Good luck everyone

I bet your dd will do well milliways!

dd is waitng for AS results and a core ofA2 maths-she is quite nervous, will be far worse next year.

Dd is waiting for her AS results too. Hope all goes well with any others in the same boat.

DS1 is too laid back for my liking.

He has been positioning me all week about potentially poor Chemistry results and asking if he can drop the subject for A2. A resolute 'no' from me!

He doesn't get his results until 2pm tomorrow, so a whole morning of anguish.

Dd is waiting for AS results but is more bothered about the imminent driving test!

It's whether she has done well enough ggirl - 3 A's is a tough requirement.

To cap it all, DS has broken his arm (again) so he needs TLC as well. Only just got back from A&E.

DD is waiting on AS and DS on A2.....the tension in this house!!!!

trying to convince him atm that he'd be best off just going to bed rather than waiting till midnight to see if UCAS website will reveal all!!

next year will be worse though i recon - DS is quite laid back (when really he shouldn't be!!), but DD will be very stressy for the 'real things' next year i recon - and out of the two of them she doesn't really need to be!!

Good luck lotspot (and DC). I couldn't cope with 2 together - mine are 4 school years apart.

thanks! what's your DD hoping to go on to do???

DH is a uni prof so he knows a large group of results right now that the kids themselves don't know about!!

My niece hasn't done A'levels but has been doing a computer course at college. She was persuaded by her tutor to apply for UEA. They originally turned her down. Her tutor wrote to them asking them to change their mind.
They wrote back saying they would take her as long as she got all distinctions.
She got her results today and she got all distinctions so she is in proud aunty icon

Good luck to everyone else. I have a few years to wait as my two are yr7 and yr9. DS will be choosing his options this year.

She has a Cambridge offer for MML, but needs 3 A grades.

Well done to your niece Bruffin!

DS found out early three years ago looking on the UCAS website, where he saw his offer had changed to unconditional.

Hope all goes well for your DD Milliways (and everyone else of course!)

I get my AS results tomorrow and I'm really scared 'cause it's the difference between going back to college next year or getting a full time job

good luck everyone. When will most dc find out? Ds will go to school in the afternoon, but is only getting one AS module result - quite curious as it's the first time he's done this, but nothing really depends on it, so no stress.

We were sitting up for the UCAS website at midnight-really disappointed that it is down. Fingers crossed for everyone.

DS is going in at about 8.15 (and shock horror we are allowed to come too!!) DD can't get hers untill 10, by then we'll be at work so she's going via friends houses to gather en-route

Website says midmorning for us aswell!
DS has a friend who is fairly certain he is in as he is going to edinburgh and logged onto their website and recieved a welcome pack email lol - assuming this is because scottish results were out a few weeks ago

I've been having a look at the clearing section on the UCAS website. Ds1 wants to do a foundation degree at the local college where he has been doing A levels. According to clearing there are places and also places for the Bsc at other institutions he applied for. I'm looking on it as he has a chance in clearing if he hasn't got a place already.

Report
piscesmoon · 20/08/2009 07:34

You will need to be quick with clearing, we have already had an email from school saying that it will be very tough this year and staff will be at school to give a hand-good luck.

DD hasn't collected her results yet, BUT she HAS had her Cambridge place confirmed via the UCAS Track site

Congratulations to your DD Milliways - that's great!
Bet you feel like sending her results to K with a 'look what you missed' message - I wanted to do that last year
