Did you get the first school on your preference list? If not, which one was it? Or was it none on your list at all?

Please, am putting 4 schools down the list. All of which we are D or E on the criteria list.
Wondering what other peoples experiences are.

We got first choice. Would almost certainly have got into any of the 3 we listed because of where we live, so had to be certain which we wanted most.

With Ds we got the first two schools on our list

1st school:
criteria 3- apptitude for technology

2nd school:
criteria 4 - priority area nearest school

3rd school: didn't get in
criteria 5- priority area

DD will qualify under
criteria 4- siblings and should have no problems getting into her brothers school.

We got second choice because it has a poor academic reputation so not full.

Appealed and got into first choice on medical grounds.

got first choice, RC school. Used all 6 choices though.
A friend of a friend only put 1 choice down thinking she was certain to get it - local cathcment area school with not so great reputation...and didn't get offered it. Child has ended up with a huge journey to other side of borough.

Hmm, am going to fill all the boxes in, for sure, just to be in with a chance of getting somewhere..I thought with all the storys you hear this would be full of didnt get any on our list woes...looking hopeful!

Got 1st and 2nd choice,only applied for three as we wanted somewhere our daughter wouldn't have to travel too far especially in the winter,and i don't drive.
i do believe it's just a mad lottery and they change criteria and distance from school year to year it seems.Good luck
