Hi can anyone tell me which month in 2017 would be good to organise a Youth Conference? I work for an organisation and I am researching the best time for this so that it doesn't clash with mocks and exams. I am looking at years 10, 11 and six formers. thank you everyone.

Each school holds internal or mock exams at different times.

Ds & dd (different schools) have year 8 & year 10 exams the week after may/June half term. My neices school has theirs the week before half term.

One local secondary holds mock GCSE's in December, dds school in January.

Actual GCSE's are from the middle of May to the end of June.

I'd say the best months would be July or October!

dds school held Y11 mocks in November just after half term.
The deadline for GCSE and A level entries is the end of Feb so most mock exams are completed before then.
iGCSEs start slightly earlier than ordinary GCSE (approx the first week in May). Practical exams for Art, Music and MFL orals tend to be earlier e.g. soon after Easter.
The disadvantage of October for Y11s is that is when sixth forms have their Open Days/evenings. The disadvantage of very late June/early July for Y12s is that is often the timing for university open days.
Very few pupils take actual GCSE exams in Y10 now.
