So Thursday 25th is results day - wishing all students the very best of luck. We are probably taking my son to pick these up, can I ask do schools get a copy of students results or just the statistics?

Schools get the results in full for each pupil tomorrow.

Schools have access to students results online before the students do, to be prepared for advising kids who have done well/badly on sixth form choices and so on.

Oh, and teachers at school will have a list with the mark breakdown for the papers for each student. Students can then ask their teachers how close they were to the grade boundary, whether it is worth sending off a paper for a remark and so on.

Schools get the results the day before mainly do they have enough time to print them off, put them in envelopes and start analysing the data. Obviously they will also identify any potential disappointments etc but the main reason is so they can get them ready so the pupils can collect them first thing tomorrow.

The main reason here is to decide who gets into the sixth form and who doesn't.
