Hi There. My son will begin secondary school in September and has got a place at Wilson's Grammar School in Wallington. I have purchased the uniform from their approved shop but cannot seem to find any information on what type of black shoes are acceptable. My son usually wears black shoes with velcro straps and he saw these at Asda recently.....Would these be okay or do Wilsons have a restriction on the type of shoe you can wear?

Any help would be appreciated

Sorry to say this, but you'd be better off with lace-ups.
Boys can be cruel about velcro straps in secondary.

(It's very unlike the school not to have sent you a uniform specification.)

they did send a uniform specification but nothing regarding what type of shoes

lace ups do make more sense i guess

The website says formal plain black leather shoes (not trainers or converse) on page 3 here

Don't have him in Velcro - it's a bit babyish. Lace ups are a good idea. Kickers kick-lo are incredibly durable (and are shoes not boots).

No idea. Probably not - they're so durable that they don't need to bother with offers I expect. They will easily outlast your child's growth. Never seen a pair fall apart.

My son says hardly anyone has velcro shoes in year 7 at Wilson's. They need to be formal and not trainer style.
