Am I wrong to now feel apprehensive?

Typically both these things happened in one day. I heard two mums in our local supermarket talking about how crap the school dd is about to start is and how they pulled their kids out as they were worried they wouldn't pass their gcses. Then I found out our second choice just got ofsted outstanding and their gcse results have gone up and dds school to be have gone down. Arrggghhh.

To some extent GCSE results reflect the children who go there and the intelligence of the cohort so no year will be the same. You must have liked the school when you chose it and didn't like the other one so much. Two people talking cannot have changed your research surely? Also teachers change, SLT changes and the curriculum changes so no guarantee one school will trump the other in 5 years time. As long as your school is not rated 4 by ofsted it will probably be ok. You also do not know how hard these pupils were working - they may have been very lazy! Hope for the best !

No you're right I did prefer the school and still do. I just feel a bit concerned as it seems results are dropping since the new head started 2 years ago. Unfortunately this wasn't really clear until the league tables came out after the applications had gone in.
