What apprenticeship?

Looking for ideas for an apprenticeship with strong maths and science predictions for GCSE's.

Any advice would be great as we can't seem to find anything suitable in our region.

IT related?
Science lab technician?

Have you see this link

Definitely after an apprenticeship rather than a BTEC at college?

Contact local FE college and ask what vacancies they are aware of and support?

Thank you teen. He's not sure just trying to look at options. He got offered a diploma in engineering at an interview at college today.

He is also good with IT. Will check out your link, thank you.

Does he want to go to college or he is more keen on apprenticeships? Know early days but is he thinking about possibly university?

Don't know what area you live in but do you have some largish companies locally that offer apprenticeships. Here the larger ones offer a decent scheme with almost a guarantee of a job at the end as long as you don't cock up along the way

I would check out higher apprenticeships which I think are for applicants with A levels or equivalent so he could go to college first which will keep his options open regarding university or an apprenticeship.

He can apply to a number of colleges and have offers from all of them. There is no pressure to make a decision.

Not strictly an apprenticeship, but accountancy with one if the big 5?

Thanks guys I think he would like to keep his options open regarding university so maybe it might be an idea tolook at staying on somewhere for the next couple of years?

We take apprentices in CAD (modern day draughtsman) and GIS (kind of computerised mapping), they do day release engineering and some continue up to degree level. It's a real growth area and very interesting. What is your region - if you PM me I will PM details of my company and similar ones.

Well, if he gets on one if the accountancy traineeship schemes, they can/ will put you through your exams and sponsor you through university.
