Radnor House 11 plus

Hi anyone know how many applicants v. places in this year's 11 plus?

Also any views or experiences of this school would be very welcome!

We sat the exam there last year and had an offer - at the time I think they said there are 40 places for year 7 but 20 come up from year 6 so think you're looking at 10 boys snd 10 girls. We really loved the school and head but didn't take offer as school didn't hit spot with sport and DT for us because of its size and lack of space to expand. Good luck

We had an quite upbeat e-mail from the school the other day, saying that all papers are now marked, results will be in the post next week and details of the upcoming orientation day will be in the offer letter. Also a short film about being in the "growth mindset!" Probably over-analysing here as very keen in the school, but would they send this out to people who are due for the rejection letter next week? Not sure whether to take it as a good omen - or standard circular to all! Stressing - me!?

Waiting list offer for dc. Not holding out too much hope there! Although the 2 dc we know who have been offered places have no intention whatsoever of taking them up!

Hi Abracadabra10! Yes i believe its 40 places for external that is excluding the 20 that move up from year 5. Would have been helpful to know what that position on the wait list was. When will you hear from the other schools?

Yes we have 2 to hear from mid Feb and one other that I'm not sure when results come tbh - will have to ring and find out.
We did like Radnor, but I guess if something else comes up we'll go with that. Not sure if we can hold our nerve till March! Was it your preferred school?

My DS has been offered a place and we have accepted. So relieved! He was really yearning to leave the current prep.

Hope he really enjoy it - my DS leaves the U6 this year and whilst looking forward to Uni is sad to go - tells you everything you need to know about the school!!
