We got the results of the 11+ tests, and my DC is one of the top 180 candidates. Now we have to choose a school. We'd prefer a co-ed school, so I'd be really interested in hearing your opinions on the quality of these two schools. The commute is pretty much the same from where we live.

Can’t fault Chis & Sid, both mine go there and both very happy.

The first time we looked at both schools for DD1 we slightly preferred BGS but chose C&S based on the fact that it is walking distance and we did not think there was enough in it to make her catch the bus.
When we looked at both schools again last year we much preferred C&S over BGS, I can’t really explain why. DD2 now settled in to year 7 at C&S and so far also very happy.

I think that if your DC is really in to languages perhaps BGS may be more suited. Also C&S is not a football school, it's all rugby.

Whichever one you go for I think both are very nice schools so you can’t go wrong I think. Good luck!

Thank you Blue! So is there no football at all in C&S? It could be a strong reason not to go there I'm afraid :-)

I think there may be afterschool football but it is all rugby for the boys as far as I'm aware. I don't have boys so perhaps double check with the school if there is any football at all. My friends DS also year 7 goes to compulsory rugby on Saturday mornings... first terms only I think... (and he is a cricket child).

I heard in the past this is one of the reasons C&S is often not flavor of the month with the boys.
