Wandsworth Test Results 2014-2015 - enough for Graveney?

Just got DS's test results for the WT, and he's got 247. I know it's going to be borderline, but does anyone have any idea what the lowest score to be accepted for Graveney last year was?

Did you get your DC's result via a Wandsworth school or direct from the Council, Pasteurella?

Seem to recall with DC1 that they gave scores as two separate marks but remember what the total was. DC1 went to a superselective (and Graveney was 5th choice on CAF) so we never needed to translate the score into whether it was good enough to gain a selective place - I assume that's the entry point you're alluding to?

How did you get the results?

I phoned up for results using 0208 871 7316. Thought they'd brush me off as a pushy over-eager parent, you could have knocked me down with a feather when the guy said he'd give me the results!

Apparently places went to scores of 245 or over in 2013, but not sure if it's also true for 2014? I was too shocked to ask when I phoned and now too embarrassed to phone back, so I was hoping to crowd source an answer Grin

DS got 237. Graveney is our 4th choice though.

It's such a minefield, isn't it! A few points one way or the other can predict the course of your child's life for the next five plus years.

Good luck with the others MaeMobley, hope you get your first choice.

Has anyone else heard anything about last years final cut off? I can't seem to find anything else on it, not sure why.

Thanks Pasturella! I really loved Graveney but I felt it was too much of a long shot.,

Not that much of a long shot if he got 237 MaeMobley, that's still a very good mark!

And this is a state supposedly comprehensive school isn't it? What a big old pile of poo.

Yes, which is pants isn't it? Makes a mockery of the results and all the angst which goes with obsessing over them.

They let me have ours, I would call again

Has anyone else got theirs? Is it true then that you can get the results from schools - ours haven't given them out so I guess you have to ask?

My DS got 263 out of 282. Does this mean he has a place? I thought from previous years DCs had to get 98%? Thanks so much for giving info on how to get the results - v helpful.

Well done your son VW! I think that's pretty much a dead cert. First round offers the last couple of years were 250 and 253.

They take the top 63 of the kids that have applied for and accepted a place, but of the 3000 or so kids that take the test (which is where they get the 2% figure - 60 as a proportion of 3000) some of them won't have even applied to Graveney (all Wandsworth kids have to take it) and then some will accept a place at other super selectives or indies after the offers come in.

Thanks all, I am just so relieved he has a place somewhere. It is such a stressful experience. Wishing everyone's DCs the very best of luck in the coming weeks as the results from the different schools come through.

My DS's marks are in more of a grey area, so we're keeping our fingers crossed here! All depends on how others have done and where they want to go, but we're unlikely to know for sure for months Confused.

Good luck everyone! Brew Flowers
