... or not, as the case may be.

Just done my first - the Norwood School in Lambeth. Made to feel very welcome, poked my head in a dozen classrooms, spoke to 4 or 5 teachers and a few kids. Really impressed by the nice atmosphere and facilities and how much the children seem to like the school. DS completely won over. HT keen to impress that 'we're not an exam factory'. Would have been more reassured if she'd made a point of flagging up how well high achieving children do there (not that there are many, but they seem to do ok with the ones they get).

Tonight is the hideous bun-fight that is the annual Harris CP open evening - 2000 parents crammed into the corridors shoulder to shoulder, desperately looking for a teacher to question. I last did it for dd 5 years ago and I'm not looking forward to doing it again. In fact I'm wondering why I'm going, given that it's so hard to get any meaningful information about the way the school works, because of the crush.

Anyone else going? Do you have a list of questions you're hoping to get answered?
