I'm starting to feel a nervous now about results day. My DS is predicted C's and B's in most of his GCSEs except French which despite working hard for he is predicted a D and ICT which was all coursework and looks like an A.

I feel really ill thinking about it! My DS is the same. PE all coursework and has a distinction*. English is very borderline and with all the report of grade boundaries changing I can see a D. He needs 5 A-C incl math and English.

A mixture of predicted a,b and c grades for my DS so very interesting to see where that will take him. I just hope he passes all of them with c's and above tbh.

What are your DC hoping to do in September?

Go to Sixth form, hopefully if all goes to plan, otherwise college beckons as good apprenticeship jobs are hard to find. My Ds has already got an A in Maths and English Language so I'm sure the school would take him unless he does extremely badly.

He's going to carry on and do the next level Btech and hopefully an additional a level if he gets BB in the gcse. I too would be happy for Cs aslong as he gets his B for the A level choice.

No sixth form at the school so off to college to do BTEC - sport related.

I've got everything crossed for Thursday. It's DS's 16th birthday too, so a very big day for him. I hope all your DC get the grades they need.

Very very nervous in our house. Just don't know what to expect on Thursday. DS1 got C/D 's in his mocks (despite A/B predictions) - but he did try really hard in the final 3 months or so. So if he passes them all with B/C I know we should be pleased but am going to have to try so hard not to show any hint of disappointment that overall he hasn't done better. I also really feel for him - school has been in special measures and very unsettling - he has had 6 different English teachers in yr 10/11 for example - getting a D in his mock in in Nov but brought it up to an A in a mock in April. So he is talking about wanting an A in English but I don't think his coursework will allow that.
Also have DS2 who has taken core science and worked so hard - not a strong scientist but desperately wants a C so he doesn't need to retake next year.
Just want the next few days to fly by now.

My nephew has had predictions from some teachers that he will get mostly Bs and some As. His mother has said that she will be proud of him whatever he achieves because he has worked so hard and done everything to the best of his ability. He is worried that he won't get enough As but we have told him that he will be able to specialize when he chooses his A Levels and so the subjects he got lower grades will no longer matter. He seems to be taking some encouragement from this but is still rather nervously awaiting his results. I think personally that he is going to be pleasantly surprised.

Maths is my main concern. I am praying that DS scrapes a C. He is borderline C/D for a few subjects and predicted one A for one subject he is good at. I really don't know what to expect tomorrow.

Mixture here but maths is the worry. Without a C she won't get into her sixth form and doesn't want to go anywhere else. Although she got good mocks, apparently most of the summer exams went badly so we are not very optimistic.

Some As and Bs here but DD is worried about Maths and Science, although she will not need Science in the 6th form. It's a pride thing, as in her eyes a D equals a fail. She got so stressed when the exams were in progress and sets herself really high standards that I'm really concerned how she'll feel if she doesn't get the grades she wants and needs. Apparently a few of the exams went really badly so I have no idea what to expect.

I will be proud of whatever she gets and I've said that five years down the line, other than 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, no-one will really care what results she got. Don't want to think about the impact of any grade boundary changes though.

Predictions range from A* to C the highest being English Lit the lowest being science. He worked his backside off so whatever he gets will be an achievement.

He seems to think he's failed 2 and if I'm honest I think he may well have failed one of them as they had to send a special consideration report off because he was totally thrown by the invigilators phone pinging texts through. Being on the autistic spectrum and super sensitive to sound didn't help the situation.

Am secretly rather worried that maths grade boundaries might go the same way as the english ones did last year but am keeping schtum.

I'm finding it so different to DD 2 years ago. She'd done the modular pathway and knew pretty much what she'd get. With DS we have vague predictions .... it will be a big surprise!
