1 and wash it at the weekends (or whenever it needs a wash, like I do).

I only ever had 1 but if you can afford 2 then go for it.

Only ever needed one at a time. Never really needed washing in between holidays either.

We only ever bought 1. If it needed washing, ours were John Lewis ones, they dried on a hanger overnight and didn't need ironing.

One. I've only had to wash it once mid-term, after a rugby match Confused.

It become their life support system. Interfere with the contents of the pockets at your peril.

Oh yes check every pocket.. And every little scrap if paper must be accounted for when they check the contents in the worktop.. Lol..

I have to wash ds's every week though as it ends up with dinner or something down it..

We've only ever had one.

I suggest you try with one, and get another if the messiness levels require it (secondary pupil's are simply not as grimy as primary, BTW)l. And try the second hand sale for a second 'emergency use' if you do decide to have one.

One!!! And only one!! I've just ordered the "honours" blazer for my son today at £140!!!! It takes 8 weeks to get the special pocket embroidered! Are they using pure platinum hand stitched by elves??? He damn well better get back in to 6th form after his gcses!!! Otherwise he'll be wearing that green blazer at job centre!!

One.

...ds's costs £80 and has lasted two years so far. It's 100% wool but machine washable and only needs doing every half term.

Don't know anyone who buys their dc two.

One. Ours cost £35 and definitely not wool. I wash it every Friday.

One. Ours had to be dry cleaned. But please only 1. DC grow very fast at that stage; and if they have more than one there will be less incentive not to lose it. DS got three years out of his; dd hasn't grown much since she was 11 and I'm sure would have got five years out of hers had she not changed schools.

One. They are hardly cheap items. My two youngest girls are at the same school, and they have one blazer each.

I wash the blazers at the beginning of each school holiday, including half term. I might do them on the occasional weekend if it becomes necessary.

I don't think I know of anyone who has bought two blazers for a single child.

2, 1 to wear and 1 to leave on the bus or the school field.

ONE
because their blazers are like a second skin - phone, pens, timetable, money, reminder notes, keepsakes
all get stashed in pockets and on lapels
transplanting that lot more often than ABSOLUTELY necessary is madness

We bought 2.
The second one is still in it's polythene in the wardrobe, and DS is 2 terms into yr 8.

They wash on a quick 30' wash and dry even quicker. The wonders of polyester.

coppertop · 19/04/2014 22:11

I only bought one.

Double-checking that its 101 pockets are completely empty so that it can be washed is not a task to be undertaken weekly.

Shock at some of the prices!

At least ours are £27.

DP was in charge if uniform purchase , and bought 2 on the grounds that one old be at the dry cleaner while the other was being worn.

Good lord.

They are usually polyester, they can be washed & dried between 4:30 & 10pm if needed.

Two at least - one in a size bigger than needed . Often 2nd hand as they are £85 for juniors and £110 for seniors.

One & only wash it at the end of term but ds1 doesn't use his as a goal post or play rugby in it. I get off the odd food stain using a damp cloth when necessary.

DS only had 3 blazers between 11-18. They were £65 each and wore really well. Only washed and drip dried for each new term. I once left it until just before the start of autumn term and found a sandwich in the pocket that had been there for 8 weeks luckily the ziplock bag kept all the mould contained!
