How to choose - Bromsgrove School and Dulwich College

We are staying overseas and consider sending our DS to either Bromsgove School or Dulwich College for Year 10 (full boarding) in Sep 2014. Would be grateful to receive any comments regarding these two schools.

I don't know anything about Bromsgrove School other than some services families use it for their children, which would be good if you are overseas too. Nothing worse than being at a school which empties out on Saturday afternoon. I used to live in South London and I get the feeling that Dulwich is predominantly a day school with a few boarders. I wouldn't want my child kicking around at the weekend whilst everyone else was at home.

Perhaps compare Bromsgrove with another school that is full boarding. It is very boring for pupils to be among a small number who stay at the weekend. Bromsgrove is very results-obsessed in a way that means they will spoon feed the children information rather than take the risk of them think for themselves.

Thanks you for all the comments. As for academic results, while Bromsgrove School achieves quite a good result in A Level, apparently its GCSE result is not particular outstanding among the independent schools in England. Does anyone know why?

Bromsgrove does largely igcses so the league tables don't reflect the true position. It has a lot of day pupils. PM me if you want to know more
