I've googled but not got a definitive answer. DD1 is starting year 8 after getting 6a in history at the end of year 7. Assuming the target is 2 sub-levels this year and next that would put her on 8c but does level 8 exist in history? Parent's evening not for a while and it's not urgent, I'm just curious. Thanks.

Yes it does. It exists now for most KS3 subjects I believe.

Thankyou. I thought L8 was confined to maths and science but I stand corrected.

Thanks busymummy3, well done to her. Can you remember where she was at the end of year 7?

No problem Iamnotinterested at the end of Y7 she got 5a, end of Y8 she got 6a, end of Y9 8b.
In Y10 she sat Unit 1 of GCSE (AQA) and got A* then in Y11 she sat Unit 2 Option D and got A* and also got A* for Unit 3 coursework, this gave her an overall final result of A*
