School bag

Just wondering where everyone has been buying school bags from.

I've been handed the task of shopping for DSD's school bag. She's going into year 7 and would prefer a messenger style bag.

Not sure of the budget as not yet had opportunity to discuss with DP following conversation with DSD's mum. I have to go out and get it tomorrow so would love to hear where everyone else has bought their bags from to help me out a bit.

My own knowledge seems a bit redundant as my school bags used to be purchased in Woolworths.

Thanks

DD is going into Y7 too. She has two bags to chose from - Jack Wills rucksack and a Medium brown bag from Bloomingdales. Her friends all have a mix inc JW/Hollister bags, Top Shop and the like.

Thanks for the help Hula, atleast I now have an idea of where to head to tomorrow. DSD should be here soon and I can try find out whether friends are likely to be taking as well

TK Maxx has a good selection of suitable bags, dd had a Jansport back pack for a while. However her school are quite strict and have introduced a more supportive standard rucksack as they carry very heavy books to and fro.

DSD has found one she likes on the Argos website. Will go into store and see what it's like but does anybody know if the quality of Argos bags are any good? Don't want to buy a bag now and have to buy again in a few weeks

Do you know how much they have to carry in it? Dd doesn't have much day to day as she has a locker in her classroom. They just take out what they need for enter morning or afternoon, or for homework. And her PE stuff goes in another locker in sports dept.

Argos bags are all branded stuff and the same quality as anywhere else.

DD2 uses a addidas messenger bag from there which did most of Y7 and is still fine. (She swaps occasionally to a much nicer animal ruck sack if she has a match after school and needs packed tea and tracksuit. Or a little new look satchel for days she only needs her planner a pen and lunch. That's what I expect she'll use on Thursday).

Just wanted to thank everyone who posted to help me out.

DSD chose a Roxy messenger bag, fingers crossed it does the job.

Hope year 7 gets off to a good start for all those starting this sept
