Was wondering when do they normally do this or do some schools not do if they already currently in that school

Ds2 is staying at current school for A levels and been offered and accepted place study what he wants .

DS's school does a three day trip away to an activities centre in july so that everyone can get to know each other whether they are new to the school or just staying on. Then the year 12s start back the day before the rest of the school so they can do a final sign up for courses and change any choices.

At my school, we are still sorting out the new yr7 intake and yr11 are concentrating on their GSSEs.

CATs for Yr7 are next week and once GCSEs are done (around 25th June I believe) we'll have a couple of induction days for Post 16.

Like WebWiz, Post 16 start a day earlier than rest of school in September, so that timetables can be finalized after results day in August.

like others we have Y12 startig back a day early (along with the Y7s) to sort out subjects and timetables. They've all had an interview about their intentions in about Feb time, so the school has a reasonable idea of subject choices.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Do you have a school website, with a list on notable dates on it? It might be on there. But tbh, speaking from the inside of a secondary school, the only thing on anyone's minds this month and next, is getting results for yr11!
