Is there a website where I can find out details of secondary schools' admissions e.g number of applicants, number of appeals, distance to school?

In my part of London you'd find this on the LEA website in a pdf booklet on secondary transfer you can download. They update it every summer, I think. I'm not aware of a single website where all this information is collected together. Don't know how the increasing number of academies is affecting this role for the LEA, either, as the number of schools where the LEA is the admissions authority must be dropping like a stone.

Wherever you live the LA will publish information on their website, although it is too early to get information about this year's admissions. If you want information about last year's admissions that isn't on their website you will need to make a Freedom of Information request.

Yes, if you go on the LEA website they'll have the data from last year (ie current yr7s). Then in Aug/Sep the new data will be available for this year's admissions. So you can compare the two and spot patterns.
