I thought I would start this tradition once again while we all wait? DS only sat Trinity...

Ooh well done hardboiled was just reading last year's the other day and thinking we should have something similar.

My DS only sat Trinity too (I mean he didn't sit Whitgift, but he is going for other schools). How did your DS find the exam?

Any idea if they've started phoning re interviews yet?

DS had a fab day! They showed them a bit of Tintin to start off, lunch was yummy, icecream and all. He found the maths very reasonable though harder than their sample paper, but still easier than another school he had sat on Monday. English a bit more challenging. How about yours?

No idea whether they're already phoning or not!

Though I'd just say Hi, I know what it's like - we were there last year Smile

Thanks Seeline...Did your DS end up joining one of the schools?

YEp - we sat both T and W 10+ as a pratice for the 11+, but ended up with offers from both so had a very big decision to make Grin
DS has now completed his first term at T and, whilst it all came as a bit of a shock after a very 'free-range' state primary, is now enjoying it!!

That's great! It's a lovely school.

Hi Seeline I remember you from last year's thread. Glad your DS is enjoying it.

My DS said more or less the same as your's hardboiled. Did your DS sit for Dulwich?

Report
hardboiled · 14/01/2013 12:34

No, didn't sit Dulwich. We're not really South, we would probably move for Trinity though. He did sit Emanuel.

Ah ok, it's just that Dulwich was on Monday so assumed you meant that.

Am already willing the phone to ring!

Well done him! That's great news.

Read the first bit of your post and thought you'd had a call from Trinity

Hello all, another one here trying to stay calm about the whole thing!

Ds sat the 10+ at Whitgift - mainly as a trial run for next year but I'm still feeling quite stressy about it! I'm pretty sure deep down that we'll have to be back next year for another shot but who knows - could end up in seeline's enviable position

The main thing for me is that ds came out with a smile on his face and didn't seem at all bothered by the whole palaver. At least we know what to expect at 11+ now.

Loads of luck to everyone - I loved reading the threads from previous years!

Thank you fatalflower!

Marni, I forgot to mention how nice it was to have the HM & co greeting every child at the door and once again saying farewell at the end... At some schools, we didn't even see the HM's face.

Yes, I thought so too. Every contact I've had with Trinity has been really positive eg the tour, the open day, the exam. Now if they could just give me a call, preferably today, and invite DS to interview, I'll be really impressed!!

Then they'd really win your heart, wouldn't they?

I think it is unlikely we get a call today unless they have spent the weekend correcting papers.

Think you're right but we can hope! Would be great to hear before the end of the week when they're sending the 'thanks but no thanks' letters out though. Might have to tape up the letterbox...

Last year DS took W on the Thursday and T on the Saturday, and we had phone calls from both on the following Saturday asking us to go to interviews. It was a long week Grin I don't know whether they deal with 10+ at the same time as 11+ though.
hardboiled the HM at T is always around to greet people. He is often outside the school at the end of the day too, just to keep an eye on things.

One long week is about right! Am sitting in my office supposedly marking exams - how ironic! - but not getting much done as keep checking to make sure I've not missed a call from W :hmm:

Let's just hope the W&T markers have longer attention spans than I do!

Hello, I'm new to this. My DS sat both W & T 10+ exams. Waiting (Im)patiently for that phone call. Have to be positive

Welcome! I think the spelling mistakes are due to the stress!
So if W are starting to phone, it means T will start tomorrow as the exam was a day later? Just being stupidly scientific about it....
