Getting permission to do work experience outside 'arranged hours'

Has anyone had any luck with this? DD wants to do something in baking when she leaves school, and a contact of ours is willing to take her, but obviously with a morning start. School say the earliest she could start is 8.30 am, which is no good.

Dd did a week with her singing teacher with very varied hours..maybe 2 till ten.
It wasn't a problem.....in fact, I'm not sure we told the school.

She started at 2am? Good for her.

School definitely want a time, unfortunately. It's on the form.

They should be able to be more flexible than that. The only problem with fibbing over the time is when they come to visit your DD on placement.

I agree, but I think it would be a 3am to 8am shift that she would do, and I'm not sure if that is just being totally out of order. I do know for a fact (because I take in other kids from the school to do work experience with me) that they only phone for a check up and then get a small written reference, they don't visit.
