Bond 11+ practice papers

Quick question for other MNers using these with their DCs: is the "WHS Bond Verbal Reasoning Pack 1" book different to "Bond 11+ papers verbal reasoning multiple choice pack 1" or is some of the material the same?

We have gone through Packs 1 and 2 VR multiple choice and need some more practice material but don't want to buy something that duplicates what DS has already done.

Have you tried Bond Online - for a fee of about £50 you have a year's access to Bond questions in the four areas that the DCs may be tested on in their 11+ exams (depending upon where you live). Our DS found it really useful to have short, sharp bursts of practice especially during the summer hols!

Thanks gazzalw. I had been buying from Amazon but looked at the Bond site and saw the online offering this morning. We have used some other online practice stuff (from 11+ forum) but I started to worry that DS needed to get used to the format of question and answer paper and filling the answer paper in properly. Has this been a concern for you?

Our experience is behind us (just) for the time being as DS got into grammar school and will be starting in September.

We did a combination of on-line and papers - found the on-line Bond stuff useful just to keep DS ticking over - during summer hols last year he was doing either a maths or English paper (or half an 80 question one) daily and a few of the short and snappy Bond ones too.

Also, did some entirely different to Bond papers which we found via Amazon

Have to confess that we didn't spend ages practising filling in boxes or working on the different approaches to completing the exam papers (probably an oversight on our part) but DS still managed to pass all three so presumably it wasn't too much of an issue -in a way that's part of the intelligence test I would have thought.

Good luck and let me know if you have any further queries - although have to say think my brain has blanked it all out now - it's a stressful time isn't it?

I bought a mixed set of Bond papers inc maths English and reasoning and found these were papers that had been duplicated in the single subject sets so take care with these.
