Comment on Ackworth School and Ashville College in Yorkshire

Since my best friends' daughter will study in Harroagte Ladys Year 9 in coming September 2012 , I intend to send my son to study in Year 9 in nearby schools too in 2013 , may I have any comment on Ackworth School and Ashville College ................thanks

I only have direct experience of Ackworth, having had two children there, one of which boarded for a short spell. It is an excellent school in every sense. My children are quite different and each one reached their full potential and more. The pastoral care is second to none - a tribute to the teaching and non teaching staff, some of whom live on site. Many schools state that they look after the individual needs of every child; Ackworth in my opinion does this beautifully.

I went to Harrogate Ladies! Not that you would know now but they did their best. Can't help with the Ashville/Ackworth business, used to get terrible attacks of the giggles when I saw Ashville boys. Happy memories
