Hi, I wondered if anyone had experience of this school for the KS4 programme?DC would probably choose the art route as she is G & T in this area and would be looking at entry in Sept 2013 when she has completed year 9. I wondered what current parents (and students) think of the school; general opinions, the quality of the teaching art and general academic, pastoral care etc. Thanks!

Also if anyone has experience of Art BTEC level 2 (which is taught at the Brit as a 2 year course at KS4) and how it compares to art or DT GCSE (which she would take at her current school as one year courses); any pluses and minuses - which are better. Thanks again.

Not much solid advice to offer save that I know a female doing Art Btec at Brit School .
She's a very individual girl ( bright and sparky ) who might I imagine rub other pupils up the wrong way ,possibly teachers .
She's doing well ,is happy .
Several uni offers and is I think planning to go to Sunderland to do something in graphics .

Thanks for that! It sounds like they cater well for differing personalities. It will be a long commute for DD if she got in. But I think she would fit in better at that school than her current one. She loves her friends and the social side of her school but hates the curriculum and ethos. Her comp is outstanding and very close to us, so it would be taking a bit of a chance if she were to leave. She is academic but dyslexic and as she is good at art will probably go into that sort of career. A boy from her primary school is doing music at Brit school and he is very talented, but don't know anyone from the art side. I sometimes see students from the school as I commute to Croydon, and while they are LOUD on the train - I think they are at all schools!
