Ok my stepson has been one of thoses kids thats has vary little concentration to the point most of the time he messes around in class, its been like this for 6 or 7 years, we have had all the tests done for ADHG and others and hes fine, hes just one that Lies in the middle of good kid >>>>>>>>disruptive >>>>>>>Bad kid, to the point where im thinking of home schooling. Hes fine at home only when hes with groups and they start to mess about he normally gets involved, Immature i think the word is. So i either wait and let him fail at his exams, and let the school do what they do which isnt much, and believe me ive vented my views to any action they try, One of which is taking the kids out for a day to climbing walls etc, so that they learn something but im unsure what. What i also see is these trips are full of other not so great kids, which only adds to my sons frustration of not trying to get in trouble. Like putting a Match with a stick of dynamite its gonna blow up.

So can anybody advise me otherwise if it was a good move if youve done it ? I personally dont think school is for him with him not learning much whilst there and him messing alot. Any good groups to email or chat to.

Financially im ok with it, My wife is also, but id like to know if its works for situations like this, or should i contact other organizations first

Thanks

Ted

I think home schooling is a great idea if he will sit down and learn from you. I don't think my son would take any notice of me. Does he get in much trouble at school.

Have you thought about a tutorial college that starts at 14? They do about 5-6 GCSE's at £5-6k per term in classes of five. It's a similar price for 3 A'levels. If you can't afford it then home ed but he doesn't need 11 GCSE's. He only needs a set amount of good core GCSE's.

Try posting over on the Home Ed board, they always seem helpful Smile
