Levels and year groups

Can you please clarify something for me.

What years would you be covering Level 4, Level 5, Level 6?

So if you were doing Year 7 work, or Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, which curriculum level would they fall into?

In maths, it would depend entirely what set they were in. E.g. I teach bottom set Y8 mainly level 4-5 work but I teach my top set Y8 mainly level 6-7 work.

In German, the levels would be a lot lower because they only start that at secondary school.

But if you looked on the education sites, and they refer to Year 6, Year 7, or Year 8 or Year 9, which curriculum level does each year fit into as a general rule based on the government guidelines.

I fully appreciate what you are saying by the way.
