Does anyone have kids at QK in St John's Wood? I went to the open evening yesterday and was v pleasantly suprised. It looks like a great school and the head has clearly made it a success.

Anything anyone knows gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Hani

Hi Hani, I have a son in year ten and another son in year 7. I rate it quite highly. The head and the senior leadership team make the school what it is. Discipline is good and the kids are held to account for their own progress (or lack of). There is a wonderful mix of ethnic and religious backgrounds. Most importantly both my sons are thriving and seemingly top of their games. The school is well oversubscribed on the yeAr 7 intake and my son was in fact the only one in his school that was offered a place there. Regards Roger

I worked in a failed Ofsted school when they brought in a 'super-head' to fix it, who later that year won a televised Headmistress of the year. She was/is Head of QK. She ran QK whilst pulling my school out of the gutter. Her and the team she appointed did a good job and she had a good relationship with the children.
I hope that helps.

Thanks Scaredycat - head seemed very impressive. At last a secondary school option that looks promising in my area!

I worked there for a few years a few years back. Same leadership there now. Brilliant and effective systems for monitoring progress, behaviour, attendance and punctuality etc. Also a real community feeling across the school - student/staff relationships were great. I rate it.
