Wedding venue feedback

I had a previous thread on which I took a hard time about my preferred wedding venue. We've taken the feedback and gone back to the drawing board. We've now booked to view our top 3 alternative venues. If any of you have any experience/reviews could you share please?

They are carberry tower, carlowrie castle and cromlix.

Thank you!

Read your original thread. Sorry I don't have any experience of those venues - but I hope you find somewhere nice. Smile

I had a look at those three websites.

I don't like the modern style of the middle one.

Cromlix will be all new which is good. I'd probably pick that one.

I'd go for Cromlix (I think I suggested that one on your first thread). I've not been at any of them for a wedding, but I've heard good reports of Cromlix from friends who have.

I was married at Cromlix but that was 13 years ago so it's changed a bit since then! My parents stayed there a couple of weeks ago though and said it was lovely.

I've heard good things about Glenskirlie:

and Solsgirth:

It was me that recommended Carberry so you know I loved it. Wish we lived closer because it would have been a definite contender for our wedding.

I enjoyed the wedding a lot. I didn't know anyone apart from dh and one friend. I'd never even met the bride or groom so it wasn't because of the people.

Loved how there was no hanging about. They have a lovely bright room for the ceremony. Then add it was a gorgeous day they served the champagne and canapés in the garden. The meal was in a large marquee but not sure if that's just what the couple chose. Tea and coffee was served in a large drawing room type place upstairs. Then back downstairs for the evening. The bar is in a separate room but it's too small for people to hang about in really. The place is stunning and the service absolutely seamless on the day.
The food was perfect the venue stunning and the staff lovely.
There is a premier Inn less than a mile away. Could walk or few pounds for a taxi. Obviously rooms at Carberry itself.
I almost feel I'm recommending my own venue I loved it so much.

Wow. Bumping as no experience but loved either of the first two - cromlix maybe a bit small for your original plans? But if the ceremony marquee were nice it could still be lovely.
